Instagram Scheduling Updates

If you use Instagram for your business, listen up because we have some great news to share with you about updates to Instagram’s API! Prior to late last month, if you wanted to post to Instagram for your business, you either had to manually create a post in the app, or schedule a notification to come to your phone that would then allow you to post a pre-written post. However, you could not pre-schedule a post and have it post automatically to the app.
This all changed when Instagram gave approval for business accounts to schedule posts automatically through one of their Facebook Marketing Partners or Instagram Partners! If you are currently using Hootsuite, for instance to manage your social media accounts, you’re able to easily set up your Instagram account to post automatically through Hootsuite. Sprout Social and SocialFlow have also integrated this new aspect to Instagram scheduling.
When setting up your Instagram account to post automatically through one of these platforms, you will want to keep two things in mind:
- Make sure you are an admin on the Facebook page you are trying to connect.
- Ensure your Instagram account is connected to your Facebook page and that it is a business profile.
