Case Study

The Sarbanes Center

  • WEBSITE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

Launching a nonprofit is about more than establishing a legal entity. It is about building credibility, creating clarity, and earning trust from the people who will help advance the mission.
When The Sarbanes Center was formed to strengthen democracy, improve community health, and protect the environment through collaboration, its leadership understood that a strong digital presence would be critical to success.
Starting with a blank slate, Redstart Creative partnered with The Sarbanes Center to develop the messaging, structure, and digital experience needed to introduce the organization to stakeholders and position it for long-term growth.

CHALLENGE

As a newly established nonprofit, The Sarbanes Center faced a challenge common to many mission-driven organizations: how to introduce itself to the world with clarity, credibility, and purpose.

While the organization had a powerful vision – to convene leaders and advance collaborative projects that strengthen democracy, improve community health, and protect the environment -it lacked a central platform capable of communicating that vision effectively.

Complicating matters was the fact that multiple programs and initiatives already shared the Sarbanes name. Without a clear identity and digital presence, potential partners, funders, and stakeholders could easily confuse The Sarbanes Center with other organizations or struggle to understand its unique role as a convener, strategist, and catalyst for impact.

The Sarbanes Center needed more than a website. It needed a strategic communications platform that would establish trust, articulate its mission, and position the organization as a credible partner for nonprofits, foundations, businesses, public institutions, and community leaders.

Redstart’s Project Objectives

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop a cohesive visual identity, including brand colors, messaging, and positioning.
  • Create a strategic site architecture that organized complex information into a clear and intuitive user experience.
  • Developed content and storytelling frameworks that guide visitors toward deeper engagement and partnership opportunities.
  • Designed and built a fully responsive, accessible website optimized for users across all devices.
  • Established a scalable digital foundation capable of growing alongside future programs, partnerships, and initiatives.
  • Created a customized website manual and conducted virtual training sessions to empower the Sarbanes team to manage and maintain their website with confidence.

our approach

Building a website for a new organization requires equal parts strategy and execution.

Before design and development could begin, Redstart worked closely with The Sarbanes Center’s leadership team to establish the foundational elements that would guide every aspect of the organization’s digital presence.

Through a collaborative discovery process, we explored audience needs, organizational goals, future growth opportunities, and the role the website would play in advancing the Center’s mission. Together, we developed messaging that clearly differentiated The Sarbanes Center from other Sarbanes-affiliated initiatives while communicating its role as a trusted connector and project accelerator.

The Results

When The Sarbanes Center launched, it wasn’t simply introducing a new website. It was introducing a new organization to the public.

Redstart Creative helped create the foundation that made that possible.

The new website established a distinct identity for The Sarbanes Center, clearly differentiating it from other organizations carrying the Sarbanes name while positioning it as a trusted convener, advisor, and catalyst for collaborative action.
Today, the website serves as a strategic communications hub that allows nonprofits, foundations, businesses, government agencies, and community leaders to quickly understand the Center’s mission, explore initiatives, and identify opportunities for collaboration.

    The project delivered:

    • A clear and differentiated organizational identity.
    • Strategic messaging that communicates purpose and impact.
    • An accessible, responsive website designed for long-term growth.
    • A scalable platform capable of supporting future programs and initiatives.
    • A digital presence that builds credibility with stakeholders, funders, and partners.

Most organizations begin with a website and hope it supports their mission. The Sarbanes Center began with a mission and needed a digital platform capable of advancing it.

By combining brand strategy, messaging development, user experience design, accessibility, and technical implementation, Redstart Creative helped transform an idea into an organization prepared to engage partners, attract opportunities, and create meaningful impact.

    Why it matters

    Many agencies build websites.

Redstart builds the strategic foundation organizations need before a website can succeed.

For The Sarbanes Center, that meant defining the message, clarifying the audience, establishing a distinct identity, and creating a digital experience that could support partnership development, organizational growth, and long-term impact.

The result was not simply a new website.

It was the launch of a new organization.
