Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (BISM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on empowering blind residents of Maryland through career and training resources. Their mission is to offer stable career opportunities, innovative rehabilitation programs, and quality products and services while developing resources for training and education.

CHALLENGE

Redstart identified several key challenges:

  1. Outdated Logo: The existing logo did not effectively represent the organization’s mission and services. BISM sought a new logo that was graphic, modern, and readable while incorporating more of their core messaging.
  2. Limited Digital Presence: BISM lacked a strong digital presence, particularly on social media platforms, which hindered its ability to connect and engage with its core audience effectively.
  3. Collaborative Alignment: BISM desired to align itself more closely with other organizations involved in empowering the blind community, both regionally and nationally, but lacked a clear visual representation of this collaboration.

In terms of social media engagement, BISM’s Instagram account has experienced remarkable growth, accumulating nearly 300 followers within a span of six months. Notably, engagement rates have surged by an average of 20% month over month, while reach has surged by 39% and impressions by 8%. These metrics underscore the tangible impact of leveraging social media to connect with BISM’s audience and amplify its message of empowerment.
